One of the most important parts of being productive, is keeping up energy levels. Sleeping has been a huge part of my life. Until I had kids I did not realize how tired I was all the time. It is not a nice feeling to be tired all the time. To not want to do things anymore. At one point in my life I would sleep almost 12 hours a day and that is a lot. Even though I was writing and cleaning most of my days I still spent most of my free time sleeping. It is not a detail about me that I am proud of.
It used to be that I “loved sleep”. To this day I seriously regret sleeping so much. Now that I am a mother I am “not allowed to sleep”. I mean that in a sort of funny way. But it hard. It is hard to be awake all the time. It is hard to keep up with babies. It is hard all the sleepless nights that are needed to make a good life for your self and/or your children. Of course sleeping is wonderful. Of course “resting” is needed and feels great. To an extent. If you are sleeping all of the time, if you are resting more often then not, you are missing out on life itself.
It has been awhile since I have thought about it but after I realized that sleeping was sort of taking over my life I began to research what it would take to boost my energy. Recently one of my close friends asked me what I did to boost my energy after I had my last baby. So I dug out my old research and began to think about it. It took a lot for me to not want to sleep. Most days I still have to remind myself that abundant sleeping does not get life accomplished.
Unique Advice For Today; To better your life, try to be alert for the things that are ahead.Try to not sleep the day away. If you want to be successful, you should not sleep all the time. If you want to be accomplished in life you have to try to be alert and ready to take on life.
Even though it is easier said then done. I understand it is easy to sleep. I understand it easy to want to sleep. But it is important to focus on the bigger picture. The big picture of what you want for your life and the life of those around you.
