A while back I heard a quote that began to shape the way I am going though my life. It read, ” Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”. It was one of the most powerful things I have ever heard.
“Life Begins At the end of your comfort Zone”
For any of you who know me, you know I do not necessarily enjoy talking to “new” people. I do not really enjoy trying new things….unless its food of course. =) The thing is, if I stayed that way; If I stayed in the mindset where “I can not do this because it is different, hard, and too much”. I would not be able to grow. I would not be able to learn more then just what is inside of my bubble. I like my bubble. It is safe, it is quiet, it is comfortable. But my bubble limits me. It limits my options, it limits my mind. I want to be able to jump when I need to and not be frozen in fear stuck in the airplane. I realize for a lot of you that is a terrible metaphor. Not everyone wants to jump out of an airplane. But our airplanes can represent some of the biggest decisions in our lives. Such as starting a new business. I do not know if I will fail or not. I do know however, that I will never know if I do not try.
As of November I am going to start officially making/selling cupcakes. Maybe some small cakes, and also eventually other baked items. It is something I am been considering for a few years. I did not just wake up one day and decide to do it. It is something I have prayed about, studied on, and put time and research into before I made a decision. But that is the thing; the human side of me, the side the enemy likes to try and toy with, has tried to tell me that its too much. That I can’t do it, that it is a silly idea and I will fail. These things are easy to fall into believing. Instead I choose to stand on Gods Word. What it says about Him, Who He is, and What it says about me.
Gods word says: I am loved, I am His, I am Worthy, I am chosen, and I have a purpose.
I AM LOVED
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
I AM HIS
The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
I AM Worthy
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1
I Am CHOSEN
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16
I HAVE A PURPOSE
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
It also says who God is; Faithful, our Provider, our Strength, our Father, our Creator, our Helper, The Author and Finisher Of our Faith! He loves us, no matter what we do or who we are. He sent HIS ONLY son to die for all of us. We can not earn this. We can not Earn our salvation. Not by our works. It is a gift that was given to us the minute Jesus died. All we need to do is tell Him we are sorry for the things we have done, for the people we hurt. And ask that He comes and lives within Us to help us through everything we will ever do. AND HE WILL!!!
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
That is the thing about God. He will always be there to catch us. Even when we make mistakes. He loves us and wants what is best for us. Even if we happen to get into the wrong airplane. Even if we forget our parachutes, He will be there to catch us the minute we are willing to ask. He works all things, ALL THINGS, together for GOOD, to those who Love Him and are called according the purpose He has for us.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Guess what that means…….Even if we fail, even if we fall flat on our face, even we make mistake after mistake, even when we make a bad decision, He will always be there for us. Once we invite Him into our hearts, our minds, and our lives, We are then equip to overcome everything the enemy has to throw at us. It makes us warriors instead of victims.
Though it is scary to do something we have never done before; Once the Holy Spirit lives within us, the fear has no hold on us anymore. We become new creations. We become more then conquerors through Him who Loves us.
Meaning we can do this. We can jump out of the air plane without being afraid. We can jump in faith and KNOW that no matter what happens afterward, We are ready to handle it because we are not in this alone.
I have met so many people who have these awesome inspiring stories. Who know that their future is set in success because they heard the call of God and answered it. I would not know those people, I would not have heard those stories had I stayed in my bubble. I would not have even tried eating at some of my current favorite restaurants. I now teach a Sunday school class for small children. I would not have had that opportunity had I not taken a step of faith. I am now a substitute teacher at a local preschool. Even though it was something I became “fearful” of applying for. I have been blessed in so many areas of my life because I have stepped out of my bubble, in faith. No matter what happens for here on out in y life, I know without a doubt, I am chosen, I am loved, I am called, am worthy and I have a purpose. All the credit goes to God. Without Him, I would still be that scared, sad little girl who never wanted to leave her house. I would not be transforming into a work of art.
For all of you, I hope you learn what its like to live outside your comfort zone. It is tough, but it is so worth it. We were not promised it would be easy. We were NOT promised an easy, flawless, perfect life where everything is handed to us. We have to work for it. We have to work hard. We have to pray hard. We have to have faith. Most of all, We HAVE to have God. Otherwise we are not able to live the abundant life we are meant to.
