The hardest parts of life, are when you know you are doing what you should be doing, yet the world is telling you that you’re wrong. Some times it is easy to know AND feel like the choices you make are right. Yet other times you want nothing more then some one to tell you, you are on the right track. My whole life I have been made to feel like the bad guy in most situations. That is why I do not have “close friends” any more. You see most people only really want to be around you as long as you are beneficial to them. Just like when Jesus went around healing millions and feeding thousands. A LOT of people fell away the minute He didn’t seem to be as beneficial to them. I know even these days in our lives lots of people are the same way. Only believe in God as long as life is going good and everything is falling into place. Then the minute life gets real again, they forget He is still there. It is really truly hard for each of us to be “loving” people. It is hard to love our enemies, most days it is even hard to love our friends. People forget what “unconditional love” actually is.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 gives a great description of what True love really is.
Most problems in the world around us, start, with love being conditional for people. I will love you when…… I will love you if…. I will love you as long as you…… As long as you share every intimate detail of life with me I will love you. As long as you…..I will love you. You see that is not TRUE love.
True love is displayed when Jesus himself was being taken to the cross. He did absolutely nothing wrong. There was NO area in His life that was evil in any form. Yet while He was being taken, while He was being beat, while He was being nailed to the cross, He was still begging God to forgive all those who were doing it. All of them, all of us were the ONLY reason He was sent to die. You see His death was to pay the debit that we owed. His death made heaven possible for each and every one of us. Yet the whole time He was here, He was mocked by So many. He was mocked by people even after His death. People were so rude, so full of hate, and so angry at a man who did nothing wrong. But He STILL DIED for them. Then He still, to this day, tells each one of us we are forgiven.
Why would He do that???
Because He loves us!
For God SO LOVED the world, that He gave HIS ONLY begotten Son, that who’s ever believes in HIM will NOT perish, but have everlasting life. (John3:16)
His love was the only thing that kept Jesus going. It was the only reason He “put up” with all the evil “drama” around Him. It was constant. People constantly complained. Were constantly mean towards one another. We see that in the world around us every day.
My heart breaks when I talk to my loved ones and such hate/hurt flow from them. I have always tried my hardest to make everyone happy. We learn in such real world times, that is not possible. It is impossible to please man. Man has such selfish amitions, selfish desires. Then each one, only love if. There are a lot of you who would say you aren’t like that. I guess maybe one millionth of a chance a few of you don’t. That is just it though. It is so highly unlikely. Maybe you say you love them, but they made you angry. So you are going to go to another friend or family member and complain about them. That isn’t true love either. Jesus never complained about anyone. Not once did He say “oh man peter can you believe what Judas did??” NEVER! He loved all of His brothers even when they were betraying Him or hiding in fear. He loved so much, no matter what any of them did to Him. He never complained but always forgave.
I can tell you as a human being right here, that is so hard to do. Especially when you feel like you are being wronged. Especially when you feel like your loved ones should have your back no matter what. Well guess what, they should. But see our goal here is to be Like Jesus, not like the world. Our goal here is to LOVE like HE LOVES. Not get payback, not get revenge. Not get the money back they owe you. Forgive them, pray about it, and LOVE them. No matter what flows out of their hearts, Love will conquer all.
Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins.
Proverbs 10:12 NKJV
So why love? I still have a hard time understanding why God loves all of us. Especially when we as people really kind of “suck”. We are terrible at being faithful, terrible at asking for guidance. We really do have so many faults and problems. Yet He loves each one of us over it all. That is what we are called to do as well. Love through it all. We are called to be like Jesus. I would really love to be like Him in every way. He is so patient, so kind, so full of love. I want to be like that. Days like these it is hard to remember, that is my ultimate goal. To be so patient, so kind, so full of Love, JUST LIKE JESUS.
Love you all! Sorry last few days have been rough for and with the people I love. Hope and pray you are all doing well. Keep your family and friends in prayer always.
The Greatest Gift
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13 NKJV
