Life is Exhausting

Well with this week being the last week of school before summer hits; There is a whole lot going on. I am not “dreading” this summer but I have come to realize it is going to be almost just as exhausting as the school year has been. I have got to admit the thought of a peaceful summer has sounded great to me for the last several months. Even though I still plan to make sure they are peaceful months to come, there is a small awareness of that peace not coming easy. I must stay on top of it. In the frame of mind, the “busy” will NOT rule over the peace God has given me.

It is definitely something easier said then actually done. With the wedding being soon, soccer coming up, my sons book club stuff, along with my book club stuff, and our bible studies; Not to mention the handful of family barbecues and camping trips. I must say there is a lot on our plate this upcoming season. But we must find that balance. The one that will help us stay sane through it all. The one that will keep us enjoying life and NOT dreading it. Can you tell me where that balance can be found??

33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV

I know that some people go through life being so “busy” that they tend to miss out on actually ENJOYING life. We were meant to enjoy life. To live it abundantly. That is what Jesus came to do. Even through the storms, through the hardships, through the tribulations, we were each given a way to enjoy life. Through Jesus we can find comfort, we can find peace, AND we can ask to be guided. Guided in a way that even when it seems to others that you are making all the wrong decision, you will know in your heart that you are following the plan God has for you. That will bring us peace. Do not get me wrong, we will still have rough days, and we will still have a hard time hearing Gods voice over everything else around us. Once it becomes a part of your life to pray and actually listen for His quiet, still voice, things start to seem easier to “handle”.

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10 NKJV

I would like to get to a point, where it doesn’t matter what life, or the enemy throws at me, I know above all else, that Gods got me, and I can handle it. That above all else I have the strength to overcome anything, AND a peace that surpasses all understanding. If you are new around here, I have covered a LOT of these verses in other places. I encourage you to read on, read each verse, then read the section around each one in the BIBLE. That way you will start to better understand what God is trying to show US through each one.

There have been so many days, too many times, where I have been worried about things out of my control. As you all know, worry and anxiety are two things that took me a long time to overcome. Even though I knew Gods promises about them to me, they still sneaked into the back of my mind often. Until I got to a point where I remembered to take EVERY thought captive.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Cor. 10:4-6 NKJV

It is my choice. I could/can either worry OR pray. That is it! We can worry OR pray. To do both my friend is what a “double minded” person does. When we pray the worry goes away. It is not no superstitious weird “hubity-bubity” stuff; IT IS TRUTH!

So even though life is exhausting. Even though things seem so “busy”. We have a choice to make every day. Are we going to worry or pray? Are we going to be lead/guided by grace? Or pull in our own will, in our own “power”? Are we going to give our Creator the chance to show us what we were made for? Or are we going to fail over and over again at things we were never intended to do? That balance, that every day choice can be found in Jesus.

So much power was given to us when Jesus died on the cross and left US His HOLY SPIRIT! I would not be able to “handle” everyday very well at all, if I did not know WHO that was. The Holy Spirit is alive and can live within us. He can help guide us, teach us, show us things we never would know otherwise. It is a choice we have been given.

Life is exhausting. But we can be in peace. We are not perfect, none of us are. We do not know everything, none of us do. But with the power of the Holy Spirit we can choose to be one step ahead of life AND the enemy. Like I have said a hundred times before, IT is our choice. We can not expect life to be perfect or easy even when we make the right choices. The difference is, when we ask for HIS guidance we no longer have to go it alone & blind.

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV

Love you all tons. Hope your week is going great.
