So tonight is movie night at our church. So excited about it. But it leaves me with a small dilemma. Since today and yesterday have gotten a tad out of hand; I have nothing written, and readily prepared for this “planned” event.
So here it; I suppose there has been given a lot to think about since last post. I try every time I write an article to leave you with something to think about. I hope I have been successful in that.
As a community we should be looking out for one another. We should have each others well being at heart. We should be looking for and helping out with things things around us. As it seems fit. Sometimes it does not seem fitting to help out. But that is when you should pray about it. Deciphering whether you should help or not is really only between you and God. We do not help JUST to be blessed ourselves, we should not want to help JUST to look good to others. We really should not help out of spite or guilt. We should help out of LOVE and nothing else. I really understand not everyone is easy to love. But we should be able to show love to everyone, no matter what.
I have a really hard time with people who think they deserve everything they have, good and bad. I hate to talk to someone who is only focused on the negative things in life. Life is negative enough by itself. So when we are focused it on the negative, we only will ever seen the negative. I talk about optimism all the time. But I really struggle with focusing on the good too. Its hard to remember when things are rough, that we are blessed in spite of what things around us look like. There have been things I have gone through in my life, that only GOD knows. Those things, at the time, felt like they were never going to end, felt like it was never going to change. Heck I can think of three different situations going on in my family, in their lives today, that are tough and seem as if they will never change.
We have prayed and prayed and we are in waiting. But if we sit and focus on how bad everything is, or looks, we are focusing on the problem and not on the solution. Even when there is currently no visible solutions, it is easy to forget that we are fighting to keep our Joy and our Peace. I do not know about you but focusing on my life problems, and losing my joy over them, is not a good deal to me. It just flat is not. Do not get me wrong. Telling someone, or sharing our hardships with one another is completely healthy. BUT; when EVERYTHING out of our mouths is negative or just about the bunch of crap that is happening; that is when we begin to loose our peace. Not only do we loose our peace, but we start to hinder others peace. Sometimes we even start to create similar thoughts and unnecessary negative emotions into the hearts and minds of those who are listening around us. I don’t know about you but I hate being sad all of the time about everything going on in the WORLD. There is so much sadness out there, so much fear, so much death, so much hardship. If we focus on it, it does not change situations, it just sits and steals our joy, yet again.
I enjoy knowing and hearing what is going on in the lives around me. I try to guard from gossip, because hear say sadness is worse then truthful sadness and they are both destructive. Especially when it is all the time. But yes I really enjoying knowing what my family, and friends are going through, so I can help encourage them. So I can pray for and with them. So they know they can confide in me as well. So they know they do not have to hold onto everything. The most important part of sharing hardships AND victories, are to realize and have others realize, YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT STRUGGLES IN THOSE AREAS. Knowing we are not alone, knowing there are others in the world around us who are going through the same things, helps build our faith and build our strength.
I have told you all several hundred times, that everyone is going through something. So we should be loving to one other. We should be helping one another. Supporting one another.
Anyways, running out of time so hopefully you all learn something or at least feel something from reading these. I encourage you read some of the other articles on our site. They can truly help us get through some things that we are going through. I hope you read, and share some of these. I pray for peace for all of you.
Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called [eus to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 1 Peter 6-10 NKJV
Let all that you do be done with love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 NKJV
